The Lufkin Engineer's Scale is the preferred tape measure for aircraft builders and engineers alike because it has precise decimal scales in both inches and metric. This makes it ideal for transferring measurements from aircraft drawings and blueprints which are almost always given in engineering units, which are decimal inches or metric (not in feet & inches). A must for job layouts. rivet hole spacing, etc. Graduated 50th (0.02) of an inch for the first 12", and in 10th of inches (.10") for thereafter. Metric graduated in consecutive millimeters throughout the blade. Blade dimensions 1/2" x 10 feet.
